About this deal

My new iX500 ScanSnap is working like a champion, sending PDF scanner output to DEVONthink Pro Office for OCR. It can nicely complement an executive office decor, with its silver and black color scheme and a design that's as close to being sleek as any document scanner I've ever seen—even with the input and output trays open. Wo der Scanjet vorher pro Doppelseite mindestens 30 Sekunden gebraucht hat, dauert das ganze nun nur noch max.

This scanner is designed to digitize materials that can be reproduced lawfully, in accordance with applicable copyright regulations and other laws.

a version of FineReader that works strictly as an OCR module for Fujitsu's scan utility (meaning you can't open it directly to use as a standard OCR program). Die mitglieferte Software ist bereits "veraltet" und kann über die Online-Update-Funktion der jeweiligen Anwendung aktualisiert werden. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Over the years, we've gone through about 3 flatbed scanners and all have the same issue - each scan takes about 30 seconds to complete and by the time it has completed you're bored of waiting and have moved away.

The S1500 can also serve as a first-rate business-card scanner, running cards through its ADF at high speed, recognizing text reasonably well, and sending the results to a variety of programs. We reverse engineered the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 driver and included it in VueScan so you can keep using your old scanner. You pop open the scanner, pull any jammed pages out, close the scanner, and hit the button to begin scanning again. Please do not feel any sense of urgency based on our data, we exist only to help you save money in a calm and well-thought out manner. The software is solid and very intuitive, and it works just as perfectly in multi-user network (hotdesk) environments as it would stand-alone.

It also has the advantage of scanning receipts, which again, is usually not an option for flatbed scanners, even with a document feeder.

He covers the gamut of gadgets and is a notable reviewer of mobile accessories and portable audio products, including headphones and speakers. As someone with various interests that lead to lots of paperwork, a family that generates too many bills, a job often done from home that also leads to print outs and invoices, this device is moving me towards a paperless home office. Fast double sided scanning with great features such as compensating for image when popped through at a slight angle, optical recognition and one touch scanning to a specific folder. we bought a fujitsu scanner about 18m month ago due to a recommendation from a friend, since the day it came it has been used every single day (7 days a week) scanning approx 90 sheets a day, we had once slight problem with it and it was swapped 2 days later without question. We not dealing with extremely high volumes, but the scanner does what it does very well and has been easy to get used to.This is too bad because the ScanSnap S1500 is the best business card scanner that I have tried so far. I’m just comparing this with scanners that I have been using for the past year or so: the Canon MP150 and an Epson Perfection V350.

bills, articles I might want to read, professional publications and newsletters (if under 30 pages just cut down the middle and remove the staples), invoices and receipts, business cards for tradesmen etc.

It ALWAYS tells you if pages have gone through together, usually due to folded paper put in (ie my fault), and if the paper is well organised I can almost leave it to it. The Software that comes with the Scanner is flexible, I normally scan and then have it auto OCR so that I can find what I need easily at a later date. That's been particularly true for all of the ScanSnap models—including the S1500—because Fujitsu doesn't provide a standard driver that will let you use the scan command from within a program. Maximum scan size: 216 x 360 mm, Optical scanning resolution: 600 x 600 DPI, Flatbed scan speed (b/w, A4): 3 sec/page.
