About this deal

The C635K also runs the AiPQ 2.0 processor and is able to hit a peak brightness of 500 nits, which is actually slightly higher than the 450 nits the C645K is rated at. Like the two 2022 models above, the C635K runs the Android TV operating system rather than Google TV. The TCL 65P639K does not feature a One Connect Box. A One Connect Box is a separate box that houses all of the TV’s ports and inputs, making it easier to manage cables and connections. While this feature may not be present in the TCL 65P639K, it still has a range of input ports, including HDMI, USB, and Ethernet, that allow you to connect various devices such as gaming consoles, media players, and laptops. The Mini LEDs make the 6-Series brighter and more colorful than before, all while preventing light bleed. While the 2020 models don’t have proper HDMI 2.1 ports for full bandwidth 4K/120Hz, the 6-Series is one of the very first TVs to come with THX Certified Game Mode for 1440p/120Hz gaming – which means it’s more than capable of playing most of the high refresh rate console games out there right now. You can find out what's new for TCL in our TCL TV 2021 guide, where we run through the new QLED and 8K TV models we saw last year and the ones that are expected over the next twelve months, as well as what upgrades older favorites like the 5-Series and 6-Series are getting to stay up-to-date and competitive with more recent models. (Hint: it's a lot of QLED and Mini LED.) Another tab in the Google TV home screen takes you to the Live TV portal. This presents over 800 channels of free-to-stream TV shows and movies from ad-supported apps. The channels are presented in a time-based program grid, and are grouped into themes such as News, Movies, Popular, Classic TV, Food… the list goes on.

This part is simpler than it first seems. When it comes to the jumble of numbers and letters TCL has applied to its 2023 TVs, we can actually break each code down in just a few steps. Let’s take one of the big guns from this year’s bunch, the 65C845K: Google TV is the smart interface of choice for the QM8 Class. (Image credit: Future) TCL QM8 TV review: smart TV & menus As for cloud-based gaming, Google’s subscription-based Stadia service bit the dust in early 2023 after a three-year run, so there currently isn’t a gaming option with native support in the Google TV ecosystem. You can find the Nvidia Geforce Now app in the Google Play store, however, which presents a solid alternative. The TCL 65P639K has a sleek and modern design that will complement any home decor. Its slim bezels and sleek stand give it a minimalist look that doesn’t detract from the viewing experience. This TV also features a wide viewing angle, ensuring that everyone in the room can enjoy the picture quality no matter where they are seated. Picture QualityThe TCL QM8/QM850G QLED is one of the brightest TVs we've tested. It's a great choice overall, although the Hisense U8/U8K is a bit better and cheaper. Still, the TCL is the more vibrant TV of the two, so if you prioritize pop over accuracy or image processing, consider it. The TCL 65P639K is a 65-inch 4K Smart TV with a range of features to enhance your viewing experience. With its 4K resolution and HDR technology, this TV promises vivid colors and sharp details. It also comes with built-in smart features that allow you to access your favorite streaming services and apps, making it a versatile choice for any home. Technology The TCL 65P639K comes with a range of picture modes, including Standard, Movie, Sports, and Vivid. It also features a customizable mode that allows you to adjust the picture settings to your preference. However, if you’re looking for the best possible picture quality, it’s recommended to calibrate the TV using a professional calibration service or a calibration tool like the X-Rite i1Display Pro. If you want to enhance your home theater setup with a surround sound system, you'll also be happy to know it supports audio passthrough for all common formats. It runs the Google TV interface with a sleek look and an easy-to-use menu. It has a massive selection of streaming apps, and the TV's built-in mic supports hands-free voice control, so you can easily find your favorite streaming shows, even when you can't find the remote. If you want a Sony TV for the best home theater experience but find the A95L too expensive, consider the Sony A80L/A80CL OLED. It's a step down in overall brightness and color vibrancy due to its WOLED panel. However, it's still an amazing TV, with great processing and advanced audio and video format support.

Google TV is the smart TV interface of choice here, and the set has a built-in mic that can be enabled for hands-free voice commands. TCL’s remote control also features a built-in mic that can be manually activated if you don’t want your TV always listening to you. Along with Google Assistant, the QM8 works with Alexa and Apple HomeKit, and it supports wireless streaming via Chromecast built-in and AirPlay 2.The best 65-inch TV we've tested is the Samsung QN65S90CAFXZA, commonly known as the S90C. It's an impressive TV that delivers fantastic picture quality and looks amazing with any content. Its QD-OLED panel provides a perfect contrast ratio, with no distracting blooming around bright objects, and its colors are incredibly vibrant and realistic. It gets extremely bright, so highlights in HDR stand out well, and with its fantastic reflection handling, it can easily overcome glare in a bright room. Unfortunately, it doesn't support Dolby Vision HDR; it instead supports HDR10+, a similar, albeit not as widespread, HDR format. Those TVs just started rolling out in the US in the form of the new 6-Series R635models and launch alongside new 5-Series TVs that, for the first time ever, use QLEDtechnology. Read our TCL 6 Series QLED review to find out more. TCL’s TV offers both Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual: X processing for its built-in 2 x 10 watts speaker system, with another 20 watts for a subwoofer. One of its HDMI outputs supports eARC for connecting to an external soundbar, and you can also wirelessly output audio via Bluetooth for private listening with headphones. For the TCL QM8 I used the Calman ISF workflow, along with the TV’s advanced picture menu settings, to calibrate the image for best accuracy with SDR and HDR sources. Once done, I watched a range of reference scenes on 4K Blu-ray discs that I’ve gathered after years of TV and projector testing to assess the TV’s performance, as well as new Dolby Vision-encoded material streamed from sources like Netflix and HBO Max. In terms of design, the TV’s designed in a new way to hide your cables and the nearly bezel-less design of the TV is fairly versatile. The legs of the TV can either be placed close together to fit on a smaller table or stand, or can be attached to the outside corners of the TV to give it some more stability.
